LAPE attaches great attention to organizing various sports activities and events for students studying at the Academy. Students can successfully combine their studies with sports activities in a chosen kind of sport. Among the students, there are a number of well-known athletes, who participate in various national and international sports events with a great success. Eighteen LAPE students took part at the Olympic Games in Sidney 2000. Olympic champion athlete Virginijus Alekna, the winners of the bronze medals, the rower Birutė Šakickienė and basketball player Darius Maskoliūnas were among them.


Nine sports clubs have been founded within the Academy, involving students in sports activity:
  • Aerobics club “Šėlsmas”
  • Football club “Vytis”
  • Rowing club “Irklas”
  • Swimming club “Kiras”
  • Volleyball club „Svaja“
  • Basketball club “Atletas”
  • Basketball club “Viktorija”
  • Handball club “LKKA - Žalgiris”
  • Martial arts club “Lokys“

Besides the clubs a student can take part in other sports such as athletics, cycling, shooting, skiing, table tennis, volleyball. Various sports events – competitions, tournaments, sports festivals are organized annually, the most popular of them are basketball tournament Deans’ Cup, traditional gymnastics festival and Faculties’ sports festivals.

LAPE owns a fine Sports Centre –athletic arena, swimming pool, indoor rowing pool, two indoor game halls and gymnastics halls, specialized table tennis, boxing, wrestling halls and a gym. Besides, the Academy disposes Sport Tourism Centre, which is located in Arlaviškės in Kaunas suburb.
